A Gentle Reminder for Women Walking Their Own Path

Peace and Blessings beautiful soul.
Can I share something with you — big sister real talk, woman to woman, heart to heart?
You don’t need to be perfect to grow.
You don’t need to be perfect to be close to Allah.
You don’t need to be perfect to be a good mother.
You don’t need to be perfect to start again.
You don’t need to be perfect to be worthy of love, guidance, or gentleness.
You just need sincerity.
And sometimes, sincerity looks like:
- showing up tired
- praying with a heavy heart
- reading one ayah (verse) instead of a whole surah (chapter)
- choosing patience once out of ten times
- trying again and again even if it feels like failure multiple times
- learning at your own pace, not by societys pressure
- healing slowly
- growing quietly

Sincerity is not glamorous.
It's not loud.
It's not perfectly structured.
Sincerity is real.
Humbling.
Messy.
Human.
Loved by Allah
The Pressure to Be “Perfect” Isn’t From Allah
Let me tell you something I wish someone told me when I was younger:
Allah does not expect perfection from you — people do, society and social media does!
There is a constant pressure to perform, to keep up, to accelerate at a pace no human heart was designed for. And when you’re already stretched thin or feeling fragile within, it’s easy — unintentionally — to absorb those expectations as your own.
But Allah is not asking that from you.
Allah asks for sincerity — even when it’s small, quiet, or imperfect.
Perfection is what burns women out.
It’s what makes mothers feel like failures.
It’s what makes women stop trying to improve their iman because they “can’t do everything right.”
Perfection whispers:
“If you can’t do it perfectly, don’t do it at all.”
Sincerity whispers:
“Try. Come back. again and again. god is near.”
This is why sincerity is worth more than perfection ever will be.
Growing In Faith Is Not an Aesthetic. It’s a Journey.
Some days you’ll feel connected and spiritually alive.
Some days you’ll feel distant.
Some weeks you’ll pray on time, journal, make dhikr throughout the day.
Other weeks you’ll feel like you’re just surviving.

Faith was never meant to be a straight upward line.
It’s waves, seasons, cycles, returns, reminders.
And trust me — I say this with all the big-sister softness in my heart:
Nothing you do for Allah is ever wasted.
Not your imperfect supplications to God.
Not your distracted salah (prayer).
Not your tears that fell without words.
Not your attempt to be better, even if you fell the next day.
Allah sees every quiet effort.

Your Effort Counts More Than Your Consistency
Let's be real for a moment.
We’re women — mothers, daughters, wives, students, seekers of knowledge in the deen, healers, builders of homes, carriers of emotional worlds.
We go through:
- little sleep
- tired mornings
- overloaded mental lists
- hormones
- burnout
- discouragement
- guilt
- trying to hold everything together!
And sometimes we’re just way too hard on ourselves.
From a big sister perspective, let me tell you honestly:
Your effort and action in the middle of chaos counts more than your effort when life is easy.
The Prophet ﷺ said that the most beloved deeds are those done consistently, even if small.
But “consistent” doesn't mean perfection every day.
Consistency means: you return.
You keep trying.
You don’t give up.
Even when it’s small.
That’s sincerity.

Sincerity Looks Different In Every Season
When you’re a new mother?
Sincerity might be giving yourself grace as you step into a role that stretches your heart in ways you never expected, allowing yourself to learn, feel, and grow without expecting perfection from yourself.
When you’re tired?
Sincerity might be choosing one small act of worship or one gentle intention, even when your body and mind feel heavier than your heart would like to admit.
When you’re on your healing journey?
Sincerity might be journaling your emotions, letting God into the places that hurt, and taking soft, steady steps toward wholeness — even if the process feels super slow.
When you’re overwhelmed?
Sincerity might be slowing your voice, taking intentional breaths, setting small boundaries, or walking away to reset with dignity and calm.
When you’re learning?
Sincerity might be showing up imperfectly again and again… and again — trusting that every return, no matter how small, is seen by God.
Allah doesn’t measure you by the size of your actions.
He measures you by the condition of your heart.
Your Journey Is Not About Perfection, It's About Returning
And here’s the part I want you to take with you:
You will fall.
You will grow.
You will fall again.
You will Rise again.
And Allah will still be there — waiting for your return.
If you take one thing from this post, let it be this:
✨ Your journey isn't about perfection.
✨ It’s about returning.
✨ It’s about seeking Allah even when you feel unworthy.
✨ It’s about trying, even when you feel tired.
Your sincerity is enough.
You are enough.

A Final Big Sister Reminder
You don’t need to be the perfect mother.
Or perfect Muslimah.
Or perfect wife.
Or perfect student.
Or perfect homemaker.
Just be sincere.
Keep returning to Allah.
Keep nurturing your heart.
Keep learning.
Keep healing your inner self.
Keep growing in small, real, human ways.
The doors of Allah’s mercy aren’t for perfect people, wealthy people or the people with the best status.
They’re for sincere ones, the one's who keep striving to better even through the slip-ups, the sincerity is key.
And you, beautiful soul — you’re already on the right path just by being here, reading this, and wanting better.
🌸 If this post touched your heart…
“Remember, your journey is not about perfection, it’s about sincerity.
With love,
Zainab
